  • Most pieces listed on our website are photographed as-is. With our As-Is pricing we still touch the piece up before shipping and ensure it's structurally solid. If you opt for the full restoration, the piece will be sanded down to remove any chips, dents, or scratches and a fresh coat of stain will be applied. Doors, drawers, and structure are inspected and repaired as needed. Multiple pieces can be refinished to make a matched set. Once we're done you'll receive a like-new vintage piece ready for 60 more years of use.

  • Absolutely. We offer nationwide shipping on all of our pieces. Delivery is White Glove — we bring the piece into your home and set it up wherever you'd like. You only pay for shipping on your first piece; additional pieces ship for free. You can add pieces at any time, so there's no need to wait to place your full order at once.

  • Every piece is carefully blanket wrapped before it leaves our warehouse. Our shippers exclusively deliver our furniture and are experienced handling vintage pieces. In the very unlikely event of any transit damage, your piece is fully insured by Modern Hill.

  • Yes! All upholstery pricing includes new foam and your choice of any of our 200 fabrics. You're also welcome to send your own fabric — the price stays the same since we charge for labor only. Reach out to get an estimate on yardage needed.

  • Our team carefully vets every item in our inventory. We're knowledgeable about mid-century designers, makers' marks, construction techniques, and materials that distinguish authentic vintage pieces from reproductions.

No Nonsense Mid Century Furniture Design

Paul McCobb moved from Boston to New York to pursue his dream of becoming a designer. When it came to design he was completely selftaught but his profound understanding of perspective paved the way for his emerging career as one of the most important designers of the time. Perspective and scale in particular became a trademark for McCobb, whose tables, shelves and even lamps were the result of meticulous attention to the room the design would inhabit. Thin lines, simplicity of form and a distinct lightness characterise the works of Paul McCobb. He was a realist and a perfectionist and his design pieces are a clear reflection of his personality. McCobb’s recipe for no-nonsense design, where only the essential is required to obtain both functionality and aesthetics, is a recipe we respect through our relaunch of McCobb's Planner coffee tables. Details such as the narrowing of the welted steel by the “feet” of the base is how one recognises a genuine McCobb design.
