Modern Hill Furniture’s Shipping Policy

How Our Order Process Works

When you purchase furniture from Modern Hill (MidCenturyWarehouse.com), the first thing that happens is our warehouse staff here in Countryside, IL is notified to start getting it ready.

This involves pulling your order out of our inventory and performing a thorough inspection. During this inspection, the entire piece is looked over for blemishes and any moving parts are tested to make sure they work well. If restoration work of any kind is needed, your order will be sent to our restoration department for the necessary touch-ups and repair. Or if all is great, it will go straight to our shipping team to schedule the next truck to your delivery address.

If restoration is required, it may increase the time until delivery past the 2 to 4 weeks we normally anticipate. Our current estimated delivery time with restoration is 6 to 8 weeks.

During this time, we keep you fully informed throughout the entire process. You’ll get an Order Status Update every time your order moves to the next part of the process, and this will include updated dates and times so you’ll always know what to expect next. If you ever have any questions or customizations, this is the perfect time to get those addressed and we’ll be happy to take care of any concerns you might have.

After restoration, we love to e-mail you photos of what your pieces look like now that they’ve been carefully restored by our team of master craftsmen!

The next step is carefully packing your order and getting it to your home. Since furniture is often large and heavy, shipping it nationwide at an affordable flat rate is not like ordering something off of Amazon and getting it delivered by FedEx. That’s why we’ve built a nationwide network of Trusted Shipping Partners who are vetted by us for efficiency of delivery and care in handling your new furniture investments. Our shipping trucks are constantly running back and forth across the country performing deliveries and pickups, so scheduling your order to go out on the next available truck to your area can take some time.

However, once your order is packed and loaded onto the next truck headed to your area of the country, it will only be a matter of 3 to 5 days before it arrives at your home. At that point your shipper will be in touch with you to arrange the specifics for your exact delivery date.

What About Local Delivery or Pickup?

Yes! If you are in the greater Chicagoland area or you will be traveling here soon, picking up your order in person is always an option. When you place an order here on our website, there are separate options available for Local Delivery and Local Pickup. Local Delivery usually refers to deliveries we do anywhere within 25 miles of our warehouse location here in Countryside, IL and the cost for that is a flat $150. Local Pickup is, of course, free and is also available to choose when you checkout here on our website.

What About Shipping Costs?

We offer flat rate nationwide shipping for every type of piece we sell and the exact cost is different depending on what type of piece it is. To check the shipping price on anything, all you need to do is add it to your cart and then you’ll see the flat rate price. Then if you add anything additional to your cart, those pieces will ship for free – only the item with the highest flat rate will apply to your entire order and everything else will ship for free since it will be on the same truck.

So if you wanted to check the flat rate on several pieces as if they were shipping individually, you’d have to make sure your cart was empty before checking the next piece.

Obviously the cost to ship a huge sectional sofa that takes up the entire delivery truck is going to be a lot more than a credenza or set of dining chairs. No matter what type of pieces you order, we have worked out some rather complex math to get you the absolute best flat rate price we can offer based on our high standards for service and care in getting your new furniture investment delivered to your home.
