Niels Otto Moller, Niels Koefoed Hornslet, Hans Wegner, Broyhill Brasilia, Paul McCobb for Calvin, and Marcel Breuer for Stendig all produced dining sets as coordinated ensembles. Matching factory sets command a premium over assembled sets because the chair proportions, upholstery, and finish all line up. An expanding dining table has one or more leaves (either self-storing under the table or stored separately) that increase the length to accommodate more guests. Mid century expanding tables from Dyrlund, Niels Otto Moller, JL Moller, Falster Mobelfabrik, and Lane are highly sought after because they adapt to both everyday and entertaining use. A fixed-top table (round, oval, or rectangular) has a set dimension and is simpler mechanically, common in the Saarinen-style Tulip format and smaller bistro tables.
