Frequently Asked Planner Group Questions

The Planner Group is a modular mid-century furniture line designed by Paul McCobb and produced by Winchendon Furniture Company beginning in 1950. It was conceived as design-forward modern furniture made affordable for the postwar household market, and ran across solid maple case goods, wrought iron base pieces, sliding-door cabinets, and coordinated dining and bedroom suites.

The Planner Group is McCobb’s most famous and most-collected line. Introduced in 1950 in maple and birch, it became Winchendon’s largest-selling collection and one of the defining American mid-century catalogs of the period.
