R-way

Most mid-century R-Way case goods use solid walnut for visible frames, drawer fronts, and tops with walnut veneer over a solid-hardwood substrate on larger panel surfaces (a standard mid-century construction). The signature build details are dovetailed drawer joinery, joined case frames (not particleboard), and solid brass pulls. Veneered tops are not a quality concern on this maker; the cabinetwork underneath is solid hardwood, which is what makes R-Way pieces good candidates for refinishing decades later. When in doubt, check the underside of drawers for the R-Way stamp and look for live wood-grain continuity across drawer fronts.
